Vision 2030

Last month, education leaders from five statewide organizations in Illinois unveiled the Vision 2030 blueprint for excellence in K-12 public education—a policy brief shaped by the voices of over 1,000 stakeholders, including locally elected school board members and dedicated educators statewide—from the southern tip to northern Illinois.

Vision 2030 is rooted in the belief that students thrive and educators excel when they feel safe and connected to each other and to their communities. This guiding principle is critical for fostering academic achievement and individual well-being, and it must be integrated into our instructional approaches, support systems, and funding, so that local districts have the resources needed to ensure that school buildings are safe.

Specifically, Vision 2030 prioritizes:

• Future-Focused Learning: Redefining student success to prepare our children for a rapidly changing world.

• Shared Accountability: Moving beyond standardized tests to evaluate student growth and proficiency over time.

• Predictable Funding: Ensuring sustainable financial resources for excellent education and updated technology to meet today’s economic challenges.

Most importantly, Vision 2030 is focused on preserving local flexibility, so that we can make the best decisions for our students right here in our community.

New Holland-Middletown ESD #88 proudly supports Vision 2030 as a vital pathway to fulfilling the promise of public K-12 education in Illinois. Together, we can create a brighter future for all our students.
